Take a night off, or order takeout

Mark the nights you're eating out or ordering in when you plan, or take a night off on the calendar later. A night off is a plan, not a gap. Nothing goes on the grocery list for it, and there's no reminder to start cooking.

When you plan

On Quick setup for the week, tap the days under Any nights eating out or ordering in?

Later, on the calendar

  1. Tap Calendar, then tap the day.
  2. Tap Night off. (On Home, tonight's card has Night off too.)
  3. What's the plan? Pick one of Your spots, an app under Eating in or Eating out, or I'll figure it out. The apps listed are the delivery and reservation apps on your phone that UnBizzy knows.
  4. What should we do with the groceries? Pick one:
    • Cook it on another day, when the week already has a night off to trade with.
    • Remove ingredients from shopping list, while there's still something on the grocery list for that dinner.
    • On the menu for next week.
  5. Changed your mind? Tap Cook it after all on the message that follows.

Close either question without answering, and nothing changes.

Your takeout spots

Keep your regular places in the Cookbook, on the Takeout tab.

  1. Tap a slot such as Your pizza place, or Add another spot.
  2. Start typing the name to look it up nearby, or tap Not here? Type it in yourself and add the name, phone, website and your usual order.

On the night, Home shows the place, your usual order, Call and Order online. Tap Somewhere else tonight? to pick again.

When you look up a takeout spot, the name you type and your postal code are sent to Google to find matching places.

Good to know

  • Picking an app or a spot opens nothing straight away. The button to open or call it is waiting on the night.
  • You can take a night off for tonight or any night still to come, as long as it hasn't been checked off as made.
