UnBizzy

The best family meal planner apps in 2026

Updated · Written by the team that makes UnBizzy

We make one of the apps on this list, so take our opinion with a grain of salt. We've tried to be fair: every app here does something well, and we say what. If anything is out of date, tell us at support@unbizzy.com and we'll fix it.

A note on Mealime: Mealime shut down on October 21, 2026. If you're here because of that, the first question below is the one that matters most.

The question that sorts these apps

Do you want an app that plans the week for you, or one that holds your recipes while you do the planning? Most "meal planner" apps are really the second kind. Both are useful; they solve different problems.

Prices are each app's paid plan as shown on its iPhone in-app price screen on October 21, 2026. Several apps also offer a free version with limits, and UnBizzy starts with a month free. Prices on a company's website can differ, and prices change, so check the app for current pricing.

Quick picks

The apps

UnBizzy: plans the week around your family

UnBizzy is built for the hundreds of small decisions behind a week of family dinners. Tell it how the week looks: the night with practice, the picky eater, the allergy, the two nights you're ordering in. It plans the dinners around all of it and builds the grocery list, sorted by store. Busy nights get quick dinners or leftovers. Meals you never want again are gone for good, and favorites come back. You can bring your own recipes by photo or link.

Ollie for meals: AI family meal planning

Ollie for meals is an app that uses AI to plan family meals around your household, including schedules and picky eaters, and can send the grocery list to delivery services. The same company also offers a broader family assistant you text, priced separately on its website; the prices in our table are for the meal-planning app.

eMeals: curated weekly meal plans

eMeals offers weekly meal plans in 15 styles, built by dietitians, with a grocery list for each week.

Samsung Food: recipe saver with AI planning on the paid tier

Samsung Food (formerly Whisk) saves recipes from anywhere, including photos, and offers AI meal planning on its paid Food+ tier.

Plan to Eat: plan around your own recipes

Plan to Eat collects your recipes, from the web or from photos, onto a planner you fill in yourself, then builds the grocery list.

ReciMe: save recipes from social media

ReciMe saves recipes from TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Pinterest into one place, with a meal planner you fill in and a grocery list sorted by aisle. It's one of the most-rated recipe apps on the App Store.

AnyList: the shared grocery list

AnyList is a shared grocery list built for households, with recipes, and a meal calendar on its paid tier.

Questions

Is there a free meal planner app for families?

Several of these apps have a free version with limits. The ones that actually plan the week for you charge for it, because planning takes real work on their end. UnBizzy starts with a month free on either plan, so you can try a few real weeks before you pay.

What happened to Mealime?

Mealime shut down on October 21, 2026, and said user data would be deleted at shutdown. If you saved screenshots of your recipes, you can import them into UnBizzy by photo.

Which meal planner handles picky eaters?
