Steps
- On Home, tap Settings (the gear), then Notifications.
- Look at the top of the screen:
- "Notifications are off for UnBizzy on this phone…": tap Open device settings and turn them on.
- "Notifications aren't turned on yet.": tap Turn on notifications and allow them when your phone asks.
- "Notifications are on, but this phone never finished signing up for them…": tap Try again.
- Check that Dinner reminders, Morning brief and Planning day are switched on, and that the times are right.
When there's nothing to send
- Dinner reminders count back from your Dinner time by the meal's prep and cook time. So a long cook means an earlier nudge.
- No dinner reminder comes on a night off, on a night with no dinner planned, or once you've marked tonight's dinner (Made it or Didn't make it).
- The Morning brief only comes on a day with something planned.
- The Planning day nudge needs a planning day picked first.
On an iPhone
- Open Settings, tap Notifications, tap UnBizzy, and turn on Allow Notifications.
- If UnBizzy is in Scheduled Summary, its notifications wait for the summary. Choose Immediate Delivery on the same screen.
- A Focus, like Do Not Disturb or Sleep, can silence UnBizzy. Open Settings, tap Focus, choose the Focus, tap Apps, and add UnBizzy to Allow Notifications From. Or turn the Focus off.
On Android
- Open Settings, tap Notifications, then App notifications, and turn UnBizzy on. The names vary a little from phone to phone.
- Do Not Disturb silences notifications while it's on.
- If UnBizzy's battery use is set to Restricted, notifications can be late. On a Pixel: Settings, then Apps, then UnBizzy, then App battery usage. Choose Optimized or Unrestricted. Other phones name this differently.
Good to know
- Reminders are set up for each phone. On a new phone, allow notifications again after you sign in.
- UnBizzy uses your phone's time zone, and it picks up a change when you open the app. If you've traveled, open UnBizzy once.
