Import a recipe from a photo

Tap the camera in the cookbook's search box and take a picture of the recipe card or cookbook page. UnBizzy reads it into a recipe you check and save. Photo imports are part of the subscription.

Steps

  1. On Cookbook, tap the camera in the search box. Or tap Add a recipe, then Snap a photo or upload a screenshot.
  2. Take the photo. From Add a recipe, you can also pick Choose from gallery for a photo or screenshot you already have.
  3. Recipe runs onto a second page, or the back of the card? Tap Add a page and take that one too. Otherwise, tap Continue.
  4. UnBizzy reads the recipe. On Review Recipe, your photo sits above the recipe so you can check one against the other. Fix anything it got wrong, then tap Save.

Good to know

  • It reads two photos at most for one recipe.
  • The photo itself is not stored on UnBizzy servers; only the extracted recipe text is saved to your account. The photo's location and other details are removed on your phone before it's sent.
  • If you back out of Review Recipe, nothing is saved.
  • The first time, your phone asks to let UnBizzy use the camera or your photos.
  • The AI planner, photo imports and further link imports need the subscription or the free month. Without one, you can still type the recipe in with Add a recipe.

If it doesn't work

  • If it read only half the recipe, it says so, for example "I got the ingredients but no method." Tap Add that page and photograph the rest, or type the missing part in yourself.
  • Blurry or dark photos are harder to read. Lay the card flat in good light and try again.
