Before you start
- Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your phone's subscription settings first.
- If you have family recipes saved in UnBizzy that don't exist anywhere else, copy them out first.
Steps in the app
- On Home, tap Settings (the gear), then Account Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Type DELETE in the box.
- Tap Delete my account.
- On an iPhone, if you signed in with Apple, Apple may ask you to confirm once more. That lets UnBizzy come off your Apple Account too.
If you still have a subscription, the screen says "Cancel your subscription first" and links you to your phone's subscription settings. You can still delete without canceling, but the store keeps billing you.
Steps on the website
- Go to unbizzy.com/delete-account.
- Enter the email address on your UnBizzy account and tap Send confirmation link.
- Open the email and tap the link. The link works for 10 minutes and only once.
- Tap Yes, delete my account.
If you signed in with Apple, the email on your account may be a private address ending in @privaterelay.appleid.com. Can't find it? Delete from Settings in the app instead. That works however you signed in.
What gets deleted
- Your account and sign-in details
- Your household profile, dietary needs and preferences
- All meal plans, past and present
- Shopping lists, staples and store settings
- Saved and imported recipes, including family recipes
- Your planning conversations
There's no recovery window and no way for us to restore it afterwards.
What's kept, from the privacy policy
- Database backups: Our hosting provider keeps rolling backups for disaster recovery for a short, fixed period. Deleted data may persist in backups until they roll over.
- Usage events: When you delete your account, the link to your account is removed; what remains is a de-identified event keyed only to a random install ID that is itself cleared from your device.
- Records we must keep by law or for our business records (for example, records of subscription transactions): As long as the applicable law or our record-keeping obligations require.
